HIV/AIDS Joint Programme
The Joint UN Action Plan is now in full implementation and includes peer education, condom and Femidom distribution, linkages between the UN dispensary and UN Learning Group on HIV/AIDS with retroviral facilities and community based support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Different agencies took a lead on different activities and funded them accordingly.

HIV/AIDS Work Place Programme
The HIV/AIDS work place programme was another joint initiative of the UN System in Nigeria. As a matter of fact, the country has the third highest number of people living with HIV in the world after South Africa and India. This work place programme originated after an assessment was made in early 2005 by the UN System on HIV/AIDS on behalf of the UNTG Group.

JUNTA - UNAIDS
The UN Joint Programme of support on HIV/AIDS is a collaborative initiative of the ten UN Agencies in Nigeria on one hand, and the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria on the other hand. The development of the UN Joint Programme of Support on HIV/AIDS is a committed and deliberate follow up of the UNCT to the mandate derived form the 12 December 2005 letter of the UN Secretary General to all UN Resident Coordinators demanding the institutionalizing of Joint UN programmes.

Joint Programme on Taraba
Joint Programme on Taraba addresses the recurrence of ethnic/communal conflicts by fostering peace and reconciliation, human rights, protection of minority groups through the empowerment of male & female returnees & other communities. Agencies involved in the joint programme are � UNHCR, UNIDO, FAO, UNIFEM, UNFPA, ILO, UNAIDS and WHO working on different aspects of the project based on their mandates and areas of expertise. UNHCR withdrew since 2008 and the others - FAO, UNIDO, ILO and UNFPA continue activities under their respective mandates and within Taraba Economic and Development Strategy.
